ELETE + HEAT

Date: 23/04/2010 00:00:00

IF YOU "just don't do" heat, then maybe this little bottle contains the product you've been waiting for...

A glance at the "Our Experience" pages will show that Amanda does the hot stuff (Sahara, Atacama etc), while
I go for the cold (trans-Alaska, the Yukon - wherever the mercury dips below zero).

Over the years, I've suffered like the proverbial dog whenever temperatures rise - cramps, nausea, heatstroke - the lot.

But now I recon I might (finally!) have found a drink supplement that works... and testing it over the past
few weeks in warmer temps has prompted me to write this news item.
ELETE + HEAT

I've carried the Elete 25ml bottle with me on a dozen runs and races (ranging from 4 to 12 hours), adding a few drops to my drinks bladder at each refill, and even taking it 'straight' - washed down with a mouthful of water.  What impressed me was that not only did I avoid cramping up, but also I was able to eat and drink normally 'on the run' and afterwards, with none of the loss of appetite or nausea I usually get when running in warm conditions.  Of course, I realise that everyone has their own favourites when it comes to electrolyte replacement, but having tried pretty much every other version on the market, I just wanted to share my experience of Elete.  Unsurprisingly, we've added Elete to our range here - if you decide to give it a try, let us know what you think!

STOP PRESS - 5/8/2010 - just had this email from Lakeland 100 finisher Gary Warmington:

"Did Lakeland 100 last w/e and the 25ml bottle kept two of us going for the whole race, having a little squirt about every hour.

"We started using after CP1 and I didn't get any nausea or have trouble eating or drinking which is what I was worried about the most. Thanks for your advice, I really think it got me round."
