TRIGGER TROPHY

Date: 21/11/2011 00:00:00

OVER 100 entries have now been accepted for the first-ever running of The Trigger - and there's news about some unique trophies for the winners..

Following an approach by race co-organiser Steve Burgess, the Ordnance Survey have kindly donated the two trig point brackets pictured above - and they're currently being made into trophies for the winning man and woman over the 20-mile plus course.

Runners will leave the West Yorkshire town of Marsden at 9am on January 15th, checking in - via a route of their own choice - at the trig points on Black Hill, Higher Shelf and Kinder West, before dropping into the finish in the Derbyshire village of Edale.   ALL proceeds from the race will go to Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team, who are providing safety cover the event and organising the hot food and drinks at Edale Village Hall for all finishers.

Along with Steve and wife Nicky Spinks (of ultra-running fame), we're co-organising the race and providing prizes, along with veteran fell-runner Andy Plummer, landlord of the excellent Huntsman pub in Thurlstone.
