BACK in the Fifties, scientists at the lab-equipment company Nalge used to sneak some of the smaller, easy-to-carry bottles out of the factory to use on hiking excursions.  It wasn't until the 1970s, when this "unofficial" use of Nalge's products was discovered, that company president Hyman Marsh gave some bottles to his Boy Scout son to try out on a camping trip.  The rest, as they say, is history; the Nalgene Outdoor Products division now supplies adventurers, explorers and outdoor enthusiasts around the globe - all of whom have grown to rely on Nalgene's legendary robustness and quality.
