METAL ENERGIZER
The Speed Metal Energizer is set to become the hot-weather compression sock of choice...
Using a newly-developed yarn called Xitanit, this calf-length Speed Metal sock quickly channels heat and moisture away from the foot, as well as reflecting radiated heat - so it's the perfect choice for races like the MdS, Atacama Crossing etc. In addition, it provides gradual compression for the calf, accelerating the flow of venous blood back to the heart - a proven aid to circulation and cardiovascular recovery.
Every now and then, a piece of kit arrives that you soon can't imagine being without... X-Socks fall firmly into that category.
Amanda's been using them since 2005 - I stubbornly refused to pay more than £10 for a pair of socks ("I can buy three pairs at that price!!" etc etc), right up to the point she bought me some for Christmas. And now I'm hooked.
X-Socks are, quite simply, the best socks either of us have ever worn - by some margin. They incorporate all sorts of technology, but the gist of it is that they keep air flowing around the foot - removing heat and moisture, and encouraging fresh air to circulate. They have heel protectors, toe protectors, ankle stabilisers and cooling channels - but the bottom line is that they really work. Result? Happy feet - blister-free, hot-spot free, drier, less wrinkly and less damaged feet... even after ultra-marathon distances in off-road conditions. Yes, they're more expensive than other socks, but they're worth every penny - believe us!

We reckon X-Bionic's Speed Metal is a great choice for the MdS or summer racing. Their innovative Xitanit silver fibre is also used in the X Bionic Fennec top.
X Bionic's USP is their combination of fibre type & weave contruction to aid temperature control. An appropriate amount of compression is encorparated to help blood flow - too much compression can actually restrict blood flow & slow down recovery!
