HEAT CHAMBER 

 

AS part of your prep for the MdS 2013, this session on March 9th gives you the opportunity to:

 

* experience the heat of the Sahara desert in a specialist heat chamber at Nottingham Trent University, Department of Sports Physiology. 

 

* run on a treadmill in 40+C degree heat, whilst your actual temperature and exertion level is assessed against your perceived comfort and effort.  

 

* measure your sweat rate, in order to assess how much liquid - and how often - you should be drinking while running the MdS. Also available on-site is the mandatory ECG test - see here for more details.
