Patagonia Base-layers
CAPILENE 2 ZIP
Patagonia keep on refining their base layers, and we reckon the new Capilene2 is the most comfortable yet. As you'd expect, it's still highly breathable and dries quickly, but it also has softer under-arm and side panels for 'chafe-free' comfort when running, and raglan sleeves which eliminate shoulder seams and therefore improves comfort under rucksack straps.
The zip has an internal draft flap, and the fabric uses Patagonia's Gladiodor (yes, really!) 'natural odour control' which uses non-polluting amino acids to keep things fresh while exercising.

PLEASE NOTE: Patagonia's base-layer sizes tend to be LARGER than usual UK sizes - so if you're a UK medium then we suggest you order Small, if you're a Large order Medium etc.

Confused about Patagonia's various fabrics (Capilene v Merino etc) and their 1-2-3 weight options? Well, their full explanation is HERE, but we'll summarise: choose '1' for hot-weather pursuits, through to '4' for cold weather. Choose Capilene for high-sweat activities and wet conditions, choose Merino if you prefer natural fibres and want extra warmth for weight. And remember, Patagonia's Merino base-layers are a 80%Merino 20% Capilene blend, giving warmth AND durability AND great moisture-wicking.
